Biography
Ruth McIver is a crime writer, born and raised in Ireland Dublin, Perth, and NYC. Her debut literary crime thriller, I Shot the Devil, released in 2021, garnered critical acclaim and secured the 2018 Richell Prize for emerging authors, along with an Affirm Mentorship Award. In the same year, her unpublished manuscript, Nothing Gold, was a runner-up for the inaugural Banjo Awards and featured in Bloody Scotland’s Pitch Perfect. Ruth is the author of The Blackout (Audible Australia) and The Sound (2025 with Blackstone USA) and she is proudly represented by The Story Factory, a boutique LA agency known for its bestselling international authors. With a highly commended PhD from Curtin, her novel-in-verse, The Sunset Club, received high commendation in the Anne Elder category from FAW (Fellowship of Australian Writers).
